The port of Lefkada is located in the northern part of the island and is the most visited and in demand port for docking. It mainly hosts professional and private pleasure vessels, small boats, fishing boats, as well as passenger transport vessels.
The approach to the port of Lefkada from the north and from the south is through a narrow channel. North of the city, the two banks of the canal are joined by a pontoon bridge, which shifts (“opens”) to the passage of the vessels.
To the east of this awesome island you will find some of the most beautiful swimming waters to the west of the island.

Within this, in fact, idyllic setting of an artificial island, bridges, canals, quays and areas both paved and with green lawns, several cultural and athletic events take place, as well as exhibitions and concerts.
Berthing
The Port of Lefkas has a mooring capacity of approximately 200 boats, on both permanent and floating pontoons.
Refuelling
A fuel station is to be found at the entrance of the marina. The friendly and efficient staff will attend to all your needs for diesel, petrol, oil and filters. Facilities for the disposal of biological waste and oil waste are also to be found here. Payment for fuel may only be made at the fuel station. As with any fuel station, safety measures need special attention. When refuelling:
- Smoking is prohibited.
- The use of naked flames and spark-producing devices is prohibited.
- The use of the pumps is restricted to the authorised personnel.
Banks
Banks in the town of Lefkas are open from Monday to Friday 08.00 to 14.00.
Shopping
There are several shops, amongst them a supermarket, a chandlery, souvenir shops etc., which will cover most of your needs.

By air
The quickest way to get to Lefkas is by air, to Aktion airport. There are connections with direct charter flights from most European capitals.
By car
Lefkas is 385 km from Athens, 420 km from Thessalonica, 180 km from Patra and 100 km from Igoumenitsa. The bridge connecting Lefkas with mainland Greece (toll-free) provides the road access to the island. There are daily bus connections to Athens and Patra, and twice a week to Thessalonica. Those travelling to the island from Italy have a particularly easy journey via the ports of Patra, and Igoumenitsa.
By ship
When it comes to getting here by sea, there are a number of alternatives. There are daily ferryboats connecting Corfu with Igoumenitsa, with timetables which change according to the season. Large ferries depart from Patras to Italy (Bari, Brindisi, Ancona, Venice), and vice versa, usually with a stop at Igoumenitsa.
